Remember when Terry said that Jefferson was a democrat?
"We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude." Thomas Jefferson
That sounds like a Democrat. The founding father of our current debt is Ronald Reagan. George W Bush put supply side policies on steroids and handed off a huge debt and deficit to Obama.
It was also Jefferson that advocated a firewall between church and state.
Unfortunately you are mistaken again. Any good historian will point out to you that the Jeffersonians were for States rights and a smaller Federal Government. Certainly doesn't sound like Obamamessiah and his minions.
It's all relative, Mark. I think we could both make great points supporting our argument with TJ. There are many considerations today which Jefferson would never have been able to contemplate.
I think the founding fathers were - as a group - nothing like today's Tea Party, which tries to take their mantle. It was the Age of Reason - science was held in high esteem and religious dogma was not. Jefferson and Franklin would look upon today's GOP with disgust.

God bless Thomas Jefferson -a very good Democrat.
Sorry Rich,
