Gitmo

We used to have some nice Libertarians on this blog who opined about "rights"

Well it turns out the "O" may not close Gitmo and retained the Sec of Defense.

The war? About the same.

I'm just saying...

Gitmo will be closed in 2009 - count on it.

Perhaps Richie but what are the "O" and all you libs going to do with the prisoners? I can already hear the cry of NIMBY.

He ran against the war and is using the same end game as Bush.

I'm just saying, when the rubber meets the road, things change. Governing is hard and perhaps Bush was a better President than you will admit. I know, I know, the "O" decisions will be much better, he is so smart. So let's see what he does with the Gitmo boys.

"O" will do the right thing let people who did nothing go free. If you have proof otherwise SHOW IT.

You mean you want us to show probably cause against enemy combatants? So now you are back to this is a law enforcement issue and not a war? Think the recent attacks in India were a law enforcement issue?

These are bad people and by the tone of your answer you seem to indicate they are political prisoners.

Terry you are my friend but you are a naive fool if you think the issue is setting free innocently imprisoned men. This is a war, a long war against people who want to rule the world with a terrible and backward religious belief.

God help us if your side wins the argument.

The point of my post is that, faced with reality, the "O" is beginning to understand.
