Radical Vision, Not Courageous
“Yes, I think it’s fair to say that their vision is radical. No, I don’t think it’s particularly courageous . . . nothing is easier than solving a problem on the backs of people who are poor, or people who are powerless, or don’t have lobbyists, or don’t have clout. I don’t think that’s particularly courageous.” - President Obama 4/20/2011

So one group pays for most, the other group pays nothing and the solution is to take even more?
The group being taken from are the ones providing the jobs, so if you take even more, there will be less jobs and more of the later group.
And Obama....blaming the past is over.
Your wasted spending and failure to deal with entitlements have caused deficits as far as the eye can see...too great for tax receipts of any increment to cure, you have stood by as our country is going broke.
And you plan? To tax the rich more?
That is your plan?
If we reform entitlements, are we not going to reduce entiltlements?
Let's make a deal!
We can talk about tax increases...but on everyone.
Let's see how those polls unconditionally opposing any entitlement cuts change when the voters, ALL OF THEM, are faced with tax increases.
Good point, Doc. Rather than trying to "starve the beast", lets have an honest discussion about taxes and the programs they fund. When GWB cut taxes the first time, 2/3 of Americans said they did not need a tax cut.
Right now, the "low hanging fruit" of new revenues is from the top end that have benefitted so much from GWB's irresponsible tax cuts. But that will only bring in a fraction of what we need. To fund current commitments, all but the lowest end will need to see their taxes go up, and not just a little. Coming soon (the next ten years): VAT.
Yes this is what the leader of the nation should be spouting during a speech that is supposed to be about the budget. Talk about radical. He is a far worse president than even the Peanut Farmer. The most divisive, partisan president in this nation's history!
