was it obtained illegally?

it is disastrous because? the 400 do what with it? hide it under their mattress, buy gasp...yatchs or jewelry?

It tells you where a portion of the revenue component of deficit reduction can come from. To the extent that you are genuinely concerned about the deficit, I am sure you will agree.

If we can just get federal revenues - as a percentage GDP - back to the Clinton levels, we will reduce the deficit by over 50%. You remember Clinton? The last president with a surplus...

What else is new? Maybe if you would actually look at the chart you would see that it has always been that way. Look how the slope of the lines are similar. However if you look at the recent trend the wealth of the top 400 is going down and now you want them to pay an ever increasing percentage of the national debt. jealousy is an ugly trait! If you want taxes to increase than you can pay more than your fair percentage. No one is stopping you rich. In fact I have a great idea. All of you liberals who want taxes to increase to cover your social experimentation, why don't you all pay higher taxes and leave the rest of us alone!

I like your thinking, Mark, except it is the Republicans who should be paying the higher taxes - they are the ones that put us in this mess.

We can start with the "Reagan (R) National Debt" tax - he is the one who trebled the national dent in his first term. Then, a "Brilliant Bush (R) Voter" surtax is certainly in order.

Good thinking, Mark!
