Today he said gay couples should have "any kind of arrangement they wish." "I think people ought to be free to enter into any kind of union they wish, any kind of arrangement they wish," he said, adding that regulations on marriage have traditionally been handled at the state level rather than the federal level, and should remain in states' jurisdictions. "Different states will make different decisions and I don't have problem with that."

As should every other issue that is not mentioned in the US Constitution like abortion, etc.
As our President said "words have meaning" and the words in the Constitution clearly say if it is not mentioned in the Constitution then it should be left to the States to decide.
For Federal Judges to find in the Constitution words that do not appear there based on their "empathy" is totally contrary to the founders of this countries intentions and have significantly helped to move this country down the slippery slope of socialism and now even facisim. Remember one of the true tenents of a facist state is private ownership of business with governmental control. See GM, Chrysler, most of the large banks and investment firms.

David Boies and Ted Olsen (arch conservative, Federalist Society) are actually trying to take this to SCOTUS challenging prohibition of gay marriage under equal protection clause of the 14th amendment.
"Fascist" comment is an absolute joke with reference to President Obama. It suggests that the speaker is entirely out of ammo.

He is going to tell us what cars to drive, what to eat (seriously, and what carbon footprint we can leave. The loss of freedom usually begins with enthusiasm from those who it is being taken.
Your comments are silly and paranoid. There is a public interest in reducing fuel consumption for national security, environmental and economic reasons. There is also a public interest in reducing the aggregate carbon footprint. With thoughtful policy, we can significantly reduce our footprint and improve our way of life. Conservation does not mean being cold in the winter and warm in the summer.
It is important that government policy set the rules of the road, create appropriate economic incentives and disincentives, and let the market and capitalism work their magic.
