HERE IS THE DEAL

Here is the deal:

1. You agree to turn over Osam Bin Laden, and we leave your country in 90 days.

2. You don't turn him over, we are here till we get him.

3. We will bomb villages. Till we get him. Let your God sort you out in your heaven.

4. We are not kidding.

I know that everyone thinks I am dreaming, but I really believe that there need to be significant border changes in Afghanistan, at a minimum giving the Pashtu areas to Pakistan. I think Obama has bought time to find an out of the box solution.

One advantage that Obama enjoys is the support of the international community. If Foggy Bottom finds some unique solutions, they will be vetted constructively by nearly all of the players.

Right, you are living in LaLa land and you are dreaming. His out of the box thinking is working great! Yes, I've noticed all the great support - yeah right. Go back to your pipe and Volvo, mull over the situation. What a liberal dupe! Reward the thought not the result as usual.

Mark - you need to change your coffee or cut down on the sugar. Silly comments yours.

Where in your mind are these crazy ideas located? Honestly, you think we can just "manage" the economy and foreign policy like a science experiment.

There will never be a change in boarder, we will need to be there a long time. We have no choice.

See next post.

Its so funny how the brilliant Bush voters have no vision or historical perspective.

It just so happens that there are many borders in former colonies throughout Africa and Asia that foster war and retard nation building. These are borders that were drawn up by imperial powers with no respect for historical borders, tribes or language. They are essentially fake nations.

So - we ended up with many countries that grouped people that otherwise have very little in common. Afghanistan is a classic example, where there is no national identity, only ethnic and tribal loyalties. This, of course, is a ready-made failed state.

What to do? In this century I believe there will be a significant amount of border redrawing, which can be a rather touchy exercise. It will require that someone take Wilsonian initiative and solve territorial problems that will otherwise fester. These are not issues that will simply solve themselves over the course of time.

Regions can't simply split off into independent states, as ethnolinguistic groups will often straddle two or three borders. Just ask the Kurds, Pashtu, and Hausa of Africa. The international community will need to be involved.

There will be opportunities for federalism and other situations that will call for simple independence. In the case of Afghanistan, I would carve it up and give each ethnolinguistic area to the neighboring state comprised of the respective group.

Now, I am ready to stand back and read responses from folks that never had an original idea but can regurgitate just about anything they heard on Fox News.

Bush lives in liberals minds rent free. They cannot move on. Come on, let's concentrate on what's going on now. They always revert back to Bush bashing, when they see how inept this administration is. No accomplishments, nothing, nada, zip. Where is all the progress - oh that's right they inherited all this. Stop making excuses for this light weight. How's that hope and change workin for ya!

Oh and as for Fox - thank God for them. We would have never known about Van Jones, Rev Wright, the Safe Schools Czar and on and on and on. No President has ever had a media in his pocket like this. Keep watching MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC and reading the New York Times! I do so I can observe the lunacy.

My most recent post didn't mention Bush. That said, I understand Mark's desire to change the subject. Unfortunately for the Brilliant Bush Voters (BBVs), his legacy lives on just as Hoovers (R) has. It is very important that we remind the electorate of what the GOP wrought.

No accomplishments in <11 months? How about preventing the Great Depression II? Have you noticed a difference in the economic environment from a year ago? Yeah, but, but, but...

Bush failed miserably on the foreign stage. He had many "accomplishments" over EIGHT YEARS - he damaged most of our relationships and set us back perhaps a decade. He did nothing to address climate change or our dependence on foreign energy. Now you want to opine on Obama's <11 months? What fair minded fellow!

Van Jones, Rev Wright, Safe Schools and all that amount to nothing. Fox News can't stick to matters of substance. While other channels are discussing Health Care, Fox may be breathlessly describing a car chase or the latest Amber Alert concerning a white child. FNC is Tabloid TV seven days a week. (MSNBC is no better on the weekends with all the Lock-up programming)

The lunacy, my friend, is the right wings dismissal of all the damage done over the past eight years. The Teabaggers- BBVs all - had the nerve to protest Obama with less than three months on the job! They were smoked in the last election. Lets keep that in mind.

" Its so funny how the brilliant Bush voters have no vision or historical perspective. " Ah you did mention Bush, He lives rent free in your brain. The economic environment is worse - get real! Did you hear about the unemployment rate and the fall of the dollar? Guess not. How bout that debt? Gonna raise that debt ceiling again - great!

I thought Obama was going to change the foreign stage. How's that workin - just a bunch of apologies. They all see him as weak, which he is.

Climate change is a hoax. It's laughable to watch all the "intellectuals" flying in on G4s and 5s, running around in limos under heavy snow conditions. What a joke - how bout them emails!

If FOX is no big deal why does the administration and libs get so upset with them. Because they don't get a pass from them. They get a pass from everyone else.

I find curious that friendships, alliances and czar picks are nothing now! Hmmmm

By the way I couldn't help notice those tough penetrating questions by Steve Croft to Obama on 60 minutes. Right! Another pass!!!!!!!!

Any suggestion that the economy in December of 2009 is worse than December of 2008 is disingenuous or ignorant. We were on the precipice of the Great Depression II. We were as close to financial collapse as any of us have seen. Our GDP was dropping like stone. The Dow was at 8,500. We were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs on net every month. It was a very scary time.

What a difference a year makes. The economy is growing again. GDII has been averted. Job losses are down to a trickle. The Dow stands at 10,500. Consensus estimates have 2010 economy growing 2.5 - 4.0%. Unemployment rate will come down - it is a lagging indicator.

A BBV wants to talk about debt!? Puhleeze!!!

There is much to apologize for after the past eight years. Strong nations can admit when they are wrong. Insecure, second rate states dare not acknowledge their errors.

We are very lucky to have such a brilliant blogger aboard. He is apparently smarter than the scientific community. He knows more about climate change than they do. Besides - why would we ever want to err on the side of caution? Full speed ahead with the status quo! Damn the consequences!

Tell us, professor, what is your opinion of evolution?
