Wait! What has he done?

Now don't get me wrong, I hope he fails because I so oppose so many of his policies.

Rich(ie) opines that he has done so much...huh?  Name one thing...please.

The economic collapse and management, actually Bush's team, with much controversy and little Conservative support. Remember "O" words? We are available if needed. (Said after McCain stupidly suspended his campaign).

What does he get credit for??? Oh, I remember, the stimulus...that's right. The $700 billion WASTE OF MONEY!

Tax cuts? Nope. Tax hikes? Nope. Unemployment high, deficit high, gas prices high, Auto's devastated. Where is the recovery? I am told that the Phoenix metro area has over 140K vacant homes. Where, with all our money spent, do we have the bullets for recovery?

What was done on his watch with the liberal in charge? Well there is this huge budget with discretionary spending growing at 14%. This has been no entitlement reform only a proposed take over of the health care industry. The budget growth was opposed by every Republican!

Now wait Jim G., the "O" must be doing better in foreign policy. OK, then Mr. Liberal dummy, tell us one concrete achievement (beyond the absolutely crazy NYC based trial of KSM) of the new friendlier U.S. foreign policy. Still Gitmo, still Afghanistan, still Korea, still Iran. Beyond the cheer leading what has he accomplished? The dollar has cratered even though countries "like" us more. (How the liberal mind can embrace such a farce remains a mystery).

Climate change! That's the ticket. Well, if the wacky left would actually allow a reasonable debate on the issue, some minds might be opened, but now it is tainted in controversy. And the "O", did he cause this debacle? No, but he is responsible for one of his signature issues being allowed to sink into religious passion instead of science. And...Rich(ie), I do know how to interpreted scientific data, I am a scientist (although I did not invent the Internet) and I know when the wool is being pulled over my eyes for a secondary agenda. John Stossel's (sp) recent show on Fox Business with a guy from the CATO institute was very enlightening.

The original Mark was right, he is in way over his head.

I agree that the Bush Administration contributed to GDII prevention. It was the least they could do, since they brought it on. The conservatives were reluctantly supportive until the coast was clear, at which point they bitterly complained (including you, my fickle friend).

The last six months of the GWB Administration were it’s best six months. God bless Hank Paulson. Had John Snow still been around, does anyone think we’d be okay today? Cheney is said to have opposed Paulson, but his influence had fortunately evaporated. He was reduced to unsuccessfully begging for Scooter Libby’s full pardon.

What would a BBV know about addressing the economic problems? It was their team that brought us to the brink. It was the Bushies that engaged in massive deficit spending during times of economic growth. They are the bright lights that added the prescription drug plan without one penny to pay for it. Please – you have been discredited - find something else to complain about. Maybe you ought to pick a subject that you are familiar with.

Why would anyone expect much to happen in <11 months in foreign policy? Is that how quickly such things tend to work? I agree that GWB fouled things up with haste, but cleaning up his mess will take a lot longer. Sorry Mr Chaney – Bushes performance on this score remains very relevant today.

Climate change has been debated for two decades. The scientific community has come to a consensus. Does that mean that there won’t be a small minority (10% or so) with sincere disagreement? Not at all – but the subject has been debated ad nauseam and there is a prevailing view. We’ll never get 100% on board. What is interesting is all the folks – this board included – that adopt their “scientific view” to simply dovetail with their politics. I respect the consensus of the scientific community wherever it comes out. To do otherwise would be rather arrogant to say the least.

For a BBV to utter “in over his head” is rather ironic, don’t you think?

He has done nothing. This man-child cries foul every chance he gets and blames it on Bush. Getting kind of old. Take the Bull by the horns - make things happen, come on, let's see what ya got. Quit making excuses. This guy was a community organizer, then spent a very short time in the IL State Senate and finally 150 days in the US Senate voting present most of the time. Wow what a guy to rally behind. Most of my contemporaries who voted for this idiot are having severe buyers remorse. I think each of us were willing to give him a chance at the beginning, but he is as Marxist as they come. He is straight out of the Sal Alynski format. When are you going to stop making excuses for him? He has no clue - in way over his head.

Oh and by the way Climate Change is not consensus. It is science therefore always in question. Talk about a group who wants to dovetail their political views with Climate Change, give me break! Get serious, Al Gore was caught in another lie just yesterday in Copenhagen. This is nothing but wealth transfer. 77 nations walked out in protest, because they were not getting enough $$$$$. Have a nice evening! Oh be sure to watch Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, read the New York Times for more talking points.

Copenhagen Weather Below - what a heat wave! Blame it on Bush - go ahead.

Mark ~

You could have made all of your first paragraph complaints before the election and I am sure you did. Talk about "getting kind of old"!

I have heard no one who voted for Obama express regret but I have heard many a right wing loser allege buyers remorse amongst Obama voters. There is no remorse on the left, just self pity on the right. The polls indicate that Obama has, in fact, lost some independents and IMO those views will hold great purchase in the Obama camp going forward.

Okay - you are revealing yourself a little here: the name is Saul Alinsky (he was Jewish, not Italian - if you can't spell, look it up). You apparently haven't a clue as to the meaning of Marxism or you wouldn't have penned such a fatuous comment (look it up).

There is scientific consensus on climate change. The nature of science certainly permits - welcomes - consensus. Your comment was one of the dumbest that I've heard on this board.

Finally - climate change or global warming does not mean that things will simply be warmer all the time all around the globe. This is one of the biggest misconceptions among the slower folk. In fact, it means (among many other things) that we will have more severe weather, over time, both hotter and colder than the norm.

FYI - I read the WSJ every weekday, editorially about as far right as a paper can get. I read the NY Times on Sunday. I don't watch Maddow or Olbermann much except during a presidential election year. Even I am exhausted by all the heated rhetoric. I TIVO Hardball and Kudlow every day, as well as Fox News Sunday and the four economic shows on FNC every Saturday AM. My reading and viewing covers all bases, not by design, simply by interest.
