sara's back & to correct ol' buddy jim, did not leave 'over a word' but over the disdain some of you have for ideologies other than your own. we ALL suffer that notion because it is 'safe' for us. but 'cop out' is uncomfortable for ol' sara.

for example, we get caught up in 'left' & 'right' which in today's jargon connotes political PARTIES instead of political POWER i.e. the 'parties' would reflect 'communism on the left' & 'fascism on the right'. fortunately, our founding fathers used a POWER continuum which had 'ruler's law' (tyranny) on the left and 'no law' (anarchy) on the right. The objective of the founders was to discover the 'balanced center' between these two extremes or a 'peoples law'.

is not this something we should consider as we express our notions & sometimes fears? ol' sara suspects that the MA election reflected a rejection of 'tyranny' rather than 'political support' for the republican agenda. perhaps something to consider.
cheers...

Sara's got it. The Independents aren't swinging to the left or right; we are voting against the power base. We want to start living the future -- not endlessly rehash the past. We are going to kick the insiders out, over and over again, until someone figures it out and votes their conscience without checking the polling numbers or consulting the lobbyists first.

Great post Eric I concur. Get rid of gerrymandering so they can vote what they really believe will be best for the people.

But the last post on global warming & evolution suggests that sara has better things to do than be trivialized by such notions.

Baxters post was:

Republican Attitudes are Astounding!
A new Research 2000 poll of more than 2,000 Republicans has some eyebrow-raising findings:

-- 63% of them believe President Obama is a socialist
-- 53% believe Sarah Palin is more qualified to be president than Obama is
-- 39% believe he should be impeached
-- 36% believe he wasn't born in the United States
-- 31% believe the president hates white people
-- 24% believe the president wants the terrorists to win
-- 23% believe their state should secede from the union

The poll was conducted Jan. 20-31, and it has a margin of error of +/- 2%.

Just imagine if they asked about climate change and evolution!
