Jeff Sessions and Sotomeyer

Jeff was U.S. Attorney for he southern District of Alabama, he unsuccessfully prosecuted three civil rights workers including Albert Turner a former aide to Martin Luther King on a very tenuous case of voter fraud. The three had been working in the Black Belt counties of Alabama which after years of voting white, had begun to swing toward black candidates as voter registration drives brought more black voters to the polls.
Sessions focus on those counties to the exclusion of others caused an uproar among civil rights leaders, especially after hours of interrogating black absentee voters produced only 14 tampered ballots out of 1.7 million votes cast.
The three were acquitted in four hours.
This is the man who voted no to Judge Sotomeyer because he is afraid she will let her ethnic background get in the way of "Justice."
Way to go Jeff!! Your background" white male in one of the most racists states in United States" did not affect you.

Another left wing red herring you must have picked up from Moveon.org or the Huffington Post. Robert Byrd was a leader of the Ku Klux Clan. Many people believe strongly that Judge Sotomeyer is a racist based on her writings and decisions. You don't have to be a racist to vote against her. She also has made statements that would definitely lead a reasonable person to believe that she will be coming to the bench with a left wing agenda and will be legistlating from the bench instead of performing a judicial function. These are reason enough to vote against her.

She was given a much fairer hearing than either Justices Roberts and Alito. When we get to the smear tactics and outright lies that the Democrats perpetuated against Clarence Thomas and Robert Bork the vast majority of the shame goes to Democratic senators.

Just look in the mirror at your own parties shameful tactics and sordid history before you start casting stones. Maybe we should talk about the Senator from MA who committed manslaughter and got away with it because of his families power and influence. Yet this Senator is voting on who should sit on the Supreme Court as if he has any moral standing.

First, to discribe a state as racist is well...need I say it?

Second, you are taking about a elected Senator correct?

Terry! Please! Original thought.
