You Blue Boys Could Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, But You Won't!

I love that you Blue Boys are having so much fun with your characterizations of Republican and their past policies (as perceived through your own lefty prisms). But, that shining light you think is a guiding light is, in fact, a train coming down the track, and you are tied down across the rails.

The link (below) is from The New York Times, no right wing journal. Give it a read. It might be good for you, but my guess is you'll absorb no more than your political leaders have from recent election results.

Enjoy the day, and enjoy the next nine months, because the nation is pregnant with dissatisfaction and the baby we are going to deliver will take the legs out from your messiah.

All the best!

Hags, some times I really like you posts and this was one of them. You are making a November forecast that you and I will both be following pretty closely. You also tend to locate the Democrats weakest links be they personal, ideological or political.

I'll read the article. I'm not kidding when I say that I really enjoy reading the other side. Looking at my book shelf and within five feet of me are George Will, Rush Limbaugh, Dick Morris, Newt Gingrich, Pat Buchanan, and William Buckley. Of course, you'll also find both Clintons, Carvile and Begala, Molly Ivins, Hunter S Thompson, Tom Friedman and Paul Krugman.

Clinton's mid-term correction didn't come in time to help House members or Senators in vulnerable districts, however, and it is rapidly dawning on many Democrats -- especially ones up for re-election in 2010 -- that hitching their fortunes to the president's unpopular agenda is not only unwise; it might well be political suicide. Their survival increasingly depends on pursuing an agenda different than, and sometimes at odds with, the president of their own party.

I just can't let this pass.

It is true that sometimes Presidents must lead against the will of the country. This is usually in circumstances involving national defense and war.

However, looking at the three great domestic positions of the "o" adminstration:
Spending
Health care
NYC terror trials

There is a vast canyon between the American people and HIS wishes. The trials were stupid, showing a administration ruled by its left wing and should have never seen the light of day.

The tone deafness regarding health care and the protests were in retrospect amazing. A "good" politician would have been out in front of them.

The biggest issue is spending. Trying to obscure the facts rather than dealing with the issue is just going to allow it to explode.

AND...We are still in a recession. Tax receipts are going to remain low. Unemployment high. HIS congress will not let him cut spending. States cannot afford any transfer of spending responsibilites.

AND...the deficit is going much higher!
