Are we at war and are there enemy's of the state?

Rush Limbaugh (gasp) ponders an important question. Terrorists, pirates, dictators... are they enemy's of the state or criminals? The little boys that "O" had waxed...participants in an act of international war or just some mixed up kids in need of guidance counseling?

The whole reason that there is a resurgence of piracy, which is something that was thought to have been stamped out a couple of hundred years ago, is precisely because idiots like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama think pirates and terrorists -- and this is terrorism -- are criminals, not enemies. This goes back to Jamie Gorelick and the wall and the Clinton administration wanting to prosecute terrorists as though they are citizens of America with constitutional rights. Prosecute them as criminals, the same as bank robbers. Of course, the leftist takeover -- or majority population, if you will -- of the US judicial system, is seen to be just that, when discussing, say, the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay or anybody else. They gotta be released, and released within the United States! Lawyers must defend them, as though they are criminals, not battlefield enemy combatants. So now the Obama administration and Clinton herself is looking at these people not as terrorists but as criminals, not enemies. If you start talking about these people being criminals then you gotta Mirandize them. Have the pirates been Mirandized? Have they been given their Miranda warnings? No! They need to be wiped out. This administration does not get it. The left in this country does not understand the concept that this country has enemies. Well, they might understand that we have enemies. What they're wrong about is why.

It sounds like you were itching for a rant but couldn't come up with a good subject.

A lawless, failed state with uneducated thieves at sea is a criminal problem. It is not terrorism, though there is sometimes a nexus. Same with credit card fraud and terrorism.

I'm glad those three were blown away. I hope that "martial law" is applied to those dangerous seas and that many a pirate ship is sunk with little warning. I also support bombing - not occupying - the land bases of the prates.

Please don't damage the war on Islamofascists by lumping them in with common criminals.

Did you miss the news. We shot them. We did not bomb their country, and invade their home and try to nation build with them. As Baxter says " couldn't come up with a good subject"

The story continues. Maybe you both missed the fact that they took four more ships yeterday with 60 more hostages. It was also announced that there will be a coordinated effort amongst all of the pirates to attack US based ships. It will be interesting to see how Obamamessiah deals with this growing "criminal problem" which is based out of a lawless country.

You guys should do us all a favor and go rent the movie "Black Hawk Down" please watch it and report back to us how this nation acts.

The biggest problem with many liberals is they have this notion that everyone is reasonable in these foreign countries exhibiting bad behavior except for a small band of "criminals". If this is not about the country of Sudan and the fact that they give aid and comfort to the pirates instead of trying to shut them down then you guys have definitely drank too much pinko Kool-Aid. Don't let your hate for Rush Limbaugh color your ability to think about what is occurring right now.

This is escalating and it is far from over. The only thing these Sudanese pirates will understand is probably utter annihilation. it will be really informative to see how Obabma's new play buddies in Europe like the Spanish pony up here.

Mark -

4 paragraphs and a lot of words. What is your point? What do you propose?

What I propose is going to the UN and debating for weeks on end before passing a resolution that states that Sudan better reign in these pirates "or else". The "or else" of course being that we will pass many more sanctions against you without actually doing anything over the next few months. Finally after 100 more ships have been hijacked and 50 Americans have been ransomed or killed by the Sudanese pirates we should go to our European allies and put together a coalition of all of the countries who have stepped up during our current Presidents recent visit by sending additional troops to Afghanistan. Together we should raise a multi- national force that goes in and captures all of these pirates and bring them back to the Hague so that they can stand trial at the World Court with court appointed lawyers defending them.

Doesn't this sound like a great plan?

What this means?

What this means is that piracy is a terrorist act against nations and commerce, not a criminal act.

And while admitting that piracy is not in the same league as terrorism, the point is that the liberals, the leftists, the party in charge has a hard time defining our enemy and therefore defining who deserves the devastating effects of our military. SOS, Hillary called the pirates criminals, the previous Democratic presidential candidate called for the terrorists to be treated as criminals.

The point is that the left has no stomach for the use of force (apparently besides raining cruise missiles).

The point...good grief.
