The saddest thing about this former Enron advisor is that he actually believes what he writes. If one wanted to write an article about insanity in the Democratic party in recent years you would need several volumes not a simple column. What this article really shows is that there is real fear in the Democratic machine as trumpeted by Pravda, that with their socialistic behavior, yes it is past liberal, that they have awoken the silent majority. A lot of these people who are starting to stand up could not support McCain either. Where the former Enron advisor is really mistaken is that the Teabag protests are not just about taxes. This is also a reaction to the arrogance of Obamamessiah and his blame America rhetoric. It is also a reaction to the wasteful spending by this administration and a reaction to the wasteful spending by Congress during the Bush administration. It is a call for this country that we love to wake up and look back at the principles that were the Genesis for the creation of this great country.
The Teabaggers are not a "silent majority". They are mostly (Right) Wing Nuts. If you watched Fox yesterday you will have noticed that many of them were armed.
We just had a very successful election and the American people spoke loud and clear. There are a few dead enders that apparentlky didn't get the memo.
America has a solid majority of Democrats and Obama fans. The Dem Congress is higher in the polls than any such poll in the past ten years. Obama enjoys the support of roughly 2/3 of Americans.
Rush Limbaugh i supported by 11% - 24% of Americans, depending on the poll. The right wing is divided and lost. Many faithful Republicans can't stand the likes of Limbaugh + Coulter. There is a lot to not like on the right.
Did the American people actually speak? What was the percentage of Americans of voting age that actually voted? These protestors are not near as wacko as some I have seen on the left wing side of the ledger. Code Pink comes to mind right away.
Let's talk about the success of this past election. It is now clear that their was significant amounts of voter registration fraud on the part of Democratic operative organizations like Acorn. A great majority of the people who voted did so because thay were convinced that it was the popular thing to do. Sort of like listening to Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers or watching High School musical for teens. The success of the Obama campaign was in the marketing without any substance. He also ran against a candidate in John McCain who certainly was not from the mainstream of the old Reagan Republicans. It is still early. These polls are basically nonsense right now. There are plenty of issues cropping up which will test the mettle of our current President and his lap dog Congress. There is an awakening starting to occur. The left wing media is bending over backwards to attack those that are questioning the path we are on now. CNN and NBC were especially shameful in their coverage. Compare how they treated Cindy Sheehan. She truly is a nut bag. Have you seen her lately? Go ahead and see what she is up to now. And she almost ran for the Senate.
Those who wanted to vote did so (unless the Florida Secretary of State had them illegally withdrawn from the rolls for having a similar name to a released felon or unless they had to wait over two hours in line in a black neighborhood in Ohio). Turnout was not materially different than any national election in my lifetime.
Read your prose, Mark. Who is the elitist?
Your voter fraud comments are ridiculous. Voter repression is a larger problem and neither effected the outcome of this election.
Don't take the path of Sour Grapes, Mark. It is time to Move On!
