Business Roundtable Lunch

I watched on CNBC today as President Obama gave a speech to the BT and then took questions. I was impressed with how much regard and respect this group gave to our economic commander in chief. He did a great job - I really feel like the adults are in charge and though it may have taken 50 days, this administration is getting it's sea legs.

Much like Clinton, Obama can speak authoritatively on a wide range of subjects. He is very well briefed and obviously, he's interested in the topics. He can also deliver bad news - or disagreement - in a very agreeable way.

What a bunch of poppy cock!

If the "Calculus" answer one arrives at is wrong then it does not matter that one understands Calculus and can speak about it with ease.

The "O" has taken the easy way in each instance of his governance so far during his brief presidency.

It takes no courage to flame class warfare. It takes no courage to emotionally charge that a small percent has mostly benefited from economic policy (for is not by definition?). It takes no courage to place the responsibility for recovery on a sliver of the citizens? It takes absolutely no courage to fail to acknowledge that stem cell research is a complex subject with complex moral issues. It takes no courage to criticize the conduct of a war and then continue with the same plan.

It is not his understanding that makes him, after 50 days the worst and more importantly the most dangerous president ever. It is that he is a true liberal, governing from the far left, without respect for individual liberty. Thank heavens for R. Limbaugh who stands in vocal protest of this man's attempt to socialize our country. More are seeing him for his true colors each day. I even miss Clinton!

Lastly, the adults! In charge?? The Dow disagrees. The treasury is un staffed. His polls are following the direction of the Dow. I know you love his liberal policies so much you want to give him a foot rub, but come on!

Class warfare? The Democrats are merely responding. They did not start class warfare nor flame it. Those who want still more marginal tax cuts even when they aren't stimulative (30 cents on the dollar) are the class warriors.

What do Republicans know about recovery? Just like the 1930's. they got us into this. They need to pipe down.

As long as the GOP is the "Party of Limbaugh" they will be a permanent minority in Congress with a 35% +/- ceiling. Two-thirds of Americans can't stand the Comedian.

Yes - the adults are in charge. Finally!

Rich now you are blaming the Republicans for the great depression. It is always amazing how liberals have managed to rewrite history in order to fit their world views.
The most current scholarly writings are now clearly showing that it was governmental intervention worldwide that fanned the flames of the depression and made it much longer in duration than it should have.

Keep fiddling Rich you remind me of Nero!

Mark -

Your partisanship betrays you. The GOP was in charge for both meltdowns. Each collapse followed long term Republican domination. It is not a coincidence.

We all agree that WWII ended the Depression. Was that massive stimulus spending or massive tax cuts?

Okay - try to spin that.
