I doubt very much that this is the underlying principle behind this election. That is way too simplistic. I believe it is more a statement about the fact that the MSM is still quite able to brainwash a majority of Americans and that those that are able to promise the most and buy the most votes using class warfare are able to win by taking advantage of those that are easily led down the path.
Race has not been a factor in national political races with the exception of how racist the black voter is.
Most conservatives have supported black candidates as well so your entire premise is defective.
Jim, with all due respect I disagree with you. The Republicans did not lose as much as the economy won for the Democrats. People vote pocketbook first and character second. Republicans failed to make the case that Democrats were more culpable than Republicans for the Economic mess we now find ourselves in. The incessant biased pounding by the MSM of all things related to Bush for 8 years coupled with the bad economy was just too much to overcome.

Terry,
I have to say that you must have lived a pretty shallow life thus far if this is your proudest moment!

My friend Mark. We got our butt kicked. We nominated a moderate. We spent too much. We quit acting like conservatives.
We were beat by an ultra liberal one term Senator.
We need to get back to basics starting with not blaming others for our mistakes.
