Dear Terry, Crazy Rich and all the deny war crowd (the term anti war was pointedly not used).
Please answer this: What happens if, as is your desire, we pull out and just leave Afghanistan?
We were attacked on 9-11 by a group which fermented in Afghanistan. That group remains and remains hostile to our country.
So, let's say we carry out your wishes and leave (and all Americans therefore avoid the war tax proposed by the liberals in the house of Rep.) .
What happens?

Your memory slips. Our fight is with Al Queda, not the Taliban, who now occupy 80% of Afghanistan. This war cannot be won. Hopefully there are enough sane Dems to vote against funding.
Al Queda is in Pakistan, Somalia et al. They do not recognize international borders. Years ago I spent months in Afghanistan, those people are concerned only with struggle of everyday life. They have no desire to harm America…only American invaders. My son has served there and will rotate back in 2010…even he recognizes the futility of the effort…and he is conservative..army.
I am deeply disappointed in Obama on this one. This country cannot afford the blood or the treasure.

Well put, Rich! I never said do not pay attention to Afghanistan. We have drones, that can see training camps, Al Queda, etc.
Our war is with terrorists,we should not be nation building, building nations by the way does not prevent extremest bent on hurting civilians.
Even in this great country, the good old USA we have terrorists ala Fort Hood, do we need a surge? and surge where? The truth Jim is we can't afford a war anywhere right now. PERIOD CASE CLOSED.
