It is well known that President Bush has always been generous in his charitable giving and has tried to get legislation passed consistent with this belief.
However Barack Hussein Obama is a far different story. On the other hand for the tax years 2006 & 2007 John McCain donated 22.28% of his AGI to charity. Mr. McCain’s campaign said he donates his royalties from his books to charities and that “this sum has totaled over $1,800,000 since 1998 when he signed his first book deal.” The campaign said his book income added up to $256,898 for 2006 and 2007.
The senator’s campaign also said that Mr. McCain has donated to charity a total of $450,000 since 1991— money he received from increases in his Senate salary — “because he opposed the Congressional pay increase at that time and pledged not to accept the pay raises.”
Why is it that liberal always want to take our money and give it to those who are deemed to be needy but won't give any of their own money away?

There is a lot more to giving than money, which of course is all the" vote your pocketbook right wingers" care about. Their is the most valuable thing you CAN GIVE which is TIME. Time is something that is not tax deductable,and you and I can't get more of, and it is the most valuable gift of all. So giving ones own money to charity doesn't count in your book. Only giving of ones time is charitable. Interesting definition.
What about Cindy McCain? She has given of her time in a major way. This is well documented. I don't recall ever seeing Michelle Obama mentioned as being particularly free spending with her time what with her appearances on the View getting in the way. There are many other conservatives who volunteer for all kinds of wonderful things with their time. Do you have any information to back your point up or are you just throwing things against the wall to see if something will stick? I don't get what you are driving at.
Are you trying to say that it is better to take money from others and give it away to one's special interests like ACORN for example than it is for one to give away their own hard earned after tax dollars to charitable organizations of their own choice?
Also as to the warped point that you might be trying to make that people give to charity because of the tax deduction, please remember that the deduction amount is not dollar for dollar or even close. It is only a function of your tax bracket. If conservatives are as money grubbing as you are trying to say than there is no way they would give a dollar away for a 33 cent tax deduction. Since liberals don't give much at all to charity it would lead one to think that they are the true money grubbers.
You have avoided the question though. Why do many liberal politicians appear to believe that it is not appropriate to give from their own earnings but it is perfectly good to take from others and give to the special interests of their choice? Joe Biden and Barack Obama are two perfect examples of the let me keep my own money while I take yours crowd.
It is always that way with big mouthed liberals. Even with all the rock stars and hollywood types who moan and groan about how we need to give more and more away to solve this problem or that yet live in gargantuan mansions and castles and fly around in their private jets. It would be a lot more effective if they gave away the vast majority of their money to these causes and lived like Mother Theresa did instead of living the high life and trying to make everyone else feel guilty. Pure hypocrisy!
